Saudi Arabia is poised to face higher-than-usual temperatures in the summer of 2026, as indicated by the latest seasonal climate forecasts from the National Center for Meteorology. The projections highlight a significant rise in temperatures across all regions of the Kingdom, with rainfall levels anticipated to be either normal or below normal in various areas.
In June, nationwide rainfall is expected to align closely with seasonal averages. However, July is likely to see a reduction in rainfall, particularly affecting regions such as Jazan, Baha, Asir, Makkah, Najran, and the Eastern Province. Other areas are predicted to experience typical precipitation levels during this period.
As for temperatures, June might witness an increase of up to 1.5°C above normal in several regions, including Jazan, Baha, sections of Makkah and Asir, as well as Madinah, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, and Tabuk. The situation could intensify in July and August, with temperatures potentially rising by as much as 1.6°C above average in areas like Jazan, Baha, and parts of Asir and Makkah, marking them among the hottest regions in the country this upcoming summer.
