Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet has strongly condemned the recent assaults by Houthi forces on civilian and economic locations in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran, labeling these actions as aggressive. The ministers emphasized Saudi Arabia’s right to protect its sovereignty, citizens, and residents in response to such attacks. Additionally, they denounced the Houthi offensives on commercial vessels and the disruption of international maritime navigation in the Red Sea.
Reports indicate that the attacks have resulted in injuries to over 70 individuals, including women and children, across several Saudi cities. In response, authorities have been instructed to ensure that those injured receive the highest standard of medical care. This directive underscores the government’s commitment to addressing the urgent needs of affected civilians.
During the Cabinet meeting, which was chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, discussions also covered the situation in the Palestinian territories. The ministers addressed Arab initiatives aimed at curbing Israeli actions in Jerusalem and halting the expansion of settlements, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s ongoing concern over regional stability and peace.
The Crown Prince also briefed the Cabinet on his recent diplomatic engagements with leaders from Egypt, Greece, and Oman. These discussions are part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to strengthen ties and cooperation with regional partners, as the kingdom seeks to navigate complex geopolitical landscapes.
In addition to regional issues, the Cabinet welcomed a new bilateral agreement between the Saudi and German foreign ministries. This initiative aims to establish a strategic dialogue that will enhance consultation and coordination between the two nations, furthering diplomatic and economic collaboration.
